Dr. Ansongna B. Claudius, popularly known as ABC, has pledged to leverage his leadership experience and strong networks to create opportunities for the people of the Upper West Region if elected Deputy Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He made the commitment on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, after filing his nomination at the party’s Regional Secretariat to contest the position in the upcoming regional internal elections.
Dr. ABC said his decision to contest was motivated by his experience in leadership, capacity to deliver results and desire to contribute to the development of the region and the growth of the party.
He cited his record as President of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) at both the University for Development Studies and the University of Ghana, noting that people who witnessed his leadership could testify to his achievements.
He also highlighted his experience as an executive of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN), stressing that his involvement in student leadership had been marked by results.
According to him, his strong network with influential personalities and people in positions of authority would be used to attract opportunities and development initiatives to the Upper West Region.
As part of his campaign promises, Dr. ABC said he would work to secure scholarships for students across the region, with a target of one beneficiary from each of the 11 constituencies every year.
He explained that the initiative would enable 44 students to benefit from scholarships over his proposed four-year tenure, should he win the election.
Beyond education, the aspirant pledged to gradually furnish constituency party offices across the region to provide a more comfortable and conducive environment for grassroots members to meet, discuss party matters and develop strategies to strengthen the NDC.
He said improving the conditions of constituency offices would support grassroots engagement and enhance party organisation.
On factionalism within the party, Dr. ABC maintained that he did not belong to any camp, presenting himself as a candidate committed to serving the party without partisan divisions.
“I am a young person, but I can assure delegates that when they give me the opportunity, I will work to bring results,” he assured delegates.
Dr. ABC is seeking the support of NDC delegates in the Upper West Region to become the party’s next Deputy Regional Secretary, promising to bring his leadership experience, networks and commitment to bear on the role if elected.
