The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Financial Secretary for Lambussie, Mr. Michael Ngmenyele, has thrown his support behind the Minority in Parliament’s call for the dismissal of the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, over allegations surrounding his conduct.

Speaking on Day Break Upper West, a morning show on Lambussie FM hosted by James Baba Anabiga on Friday, October 9, 2026, Mr. Ngmenyele described the Minority’s demand as justified, citing what he said were serious concerns arising from the alleged visa scandal, the reported travel of undocumented officials and an email to the United States Embassy.
According to him, the issues raised against the minister are too serious to be overlooked and require decisive action from President John Dramani Mahama.
Mr. Ngmenyele expressed surprise that the Sports Minister remained in office despite the revelations, arguing that the President should have suspended or dismissed him by now.

He questioned what he perceived as inconsistency in the government’s handling of officials facing allegations, noting that some individuals had reportedly been dismissed or suspended while Mr. Adams continued to serve as minister.
“I don’t know why others are being sacked or suspended whilst we still have the Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, still at post,” he said.
Mr. Ngmenyele maintained that the allegations surrounding the minister should not be swept under the carpet and called for accountability in the handling of the matter.
